Famous Left-Handers - This site is especially attractive for left handers. From presidents and prime ministers to artists and musicians, the site gives a variety of information on left handers. Embryo Development - This excellent web site provides a multimedia presentation of embryonic development. The Cow Eye Dissection, from the Exploratorium Museum in San Francisco, lets you dissect a cow's eye a step at a time, and learn a lot about eyes in the process. Centre of Medical Imaging Research, University of Leeds - presents a variety of methods, such as Xray, CAT, MRI, and PET, for imaging the body and the brain that are now available. Twin Pairs Study This is an article written by Arthur Allen for the January 11, 1998 edition of the Washington Post Magazine. It discusses an ongoing research study of 15,000 twin pairs at the Virginia Commonwealth University. This study is seeking to better understand human behavior and the ongoing nature-nurture controversy. The Human Genome Project (HGP) This is an international research effort designed to characterize the human genome through complete mapping and sequencing of their DNA. This is a comprehensive web site describing the entire project in detail, as well as providing useful links to other human genetic information on the web. Guide to Genetic Disorders A comprehensive, multimedia guide to genetic disorders. This web site discusses the causes, symptoms, incidences, treatments, and facts about the following disorders: fragile X syndrome, sickle-cell anemia, and PKU (phenylketonuria), and others. National Society of Genetic Counselors This site offers information about genetic counseling, answers frequently asked questions about genetic counseling, and provides a comprehensive database to help people find a genetic counselor in their area. Links to additional resources are also provided. The Association of Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP) It is designed to inform health care providers, the media, and the general public about cloning and genetic engineering. This up-to-date information is written in non-technical prose and offers links to additional resources on the web. "Race, Genetics, and IQ" This web site is a link to the online book, The Black-White Test Score Gap (1998) edited by Christopher Jencks and Meredith Phillips. This particular link is to chapter 3, "Race, Genetics, and IQ" written by Richard E. Nisbett. This chapter discusses the evidence on whether the difference between black and white individuals’ IQ scores is due to genetic factors. National Infertility Association This is the web site of The National Infertility Association, an organization dedicated to educating, advocating, and supporting men and women facing infertility. MEDLINEplus An explanation of fetal development as described in the online medical encyclopedia MEDLINEplus, which is a service of the National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health. National Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (NOFAS) The National Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (NOFAS) is a national non-profit devoted to disseminating information about the consequences of mother’s alcohol consumption during pregnancy on an unborn child. Fetal Development - This page shows the fascinating development of the fetus. Neonatal Calendar - Now this is a good idea. It has a form - you enter some information and then it charts out your baby's development throughout the pregnancy. NEAT! Pregnancy Newsletter - A newsletter for women. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on Psychological Tests - Students often want to know about Psychological tests that either they have heard about, used themselves, or want to be able to access. European IQ-test (up to 174) - This test is quite mindboggling but interesting. The Web page takes a few minutes to download, but it is fun. It offers a chance to see how tests could be administered via the WWW. Chimera - This site has lots of simulated IQ Tests, links to High IQ Societies, and brain-teasing puzzles. Nonverbal Communication - This page is a fun introduction to the topic of nonverbal communication. It uses photographs from different cultures to give you a chance to try to guess the meaning of some REAL nonverbal communication.
